Visitors to a local supermarket are being alerted that they may have been exposed to novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Residents of Putnam County and neighboring communities are being advised of possible COVID contamination at TOPS Friendly Markets, located on Route 6 in Carmel, by the Putnam County Department of Health. The Putnam County Department of Health will host a drive-through testing site for county residents with COVID-19 symptoms. The testing clinic, which is set to run from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, requires residents to answer a pre-screening survey at surveygizmo.com to be considered for testing, the health department said. Tracking is underway for the first two Putnam County patients diagnosed for testing positive for the novel strain of the coronavirus, the Putnam County Department of Health said in a statement early Sunday evening, March 15. The Putnam County Department of Health has confirmed three positive cases of measles and said others may have been exposed earlier this week. Two are Putnam residents and the third lives in Connecticut, said Susan Hoffner, health educator of the Putnam County Department of Health. The hometowns of the three were not released.
