Fairfield Names New Police Chief After more than 20 years on the job, a Fairfield County police captain has been selected to serve as chief of the department. Capt. Robert Kalamaras has been selected as the new police chief of the Fairfield Police Department, replacing Chief Christopher Lyddy, who is retiring on Friday, Jan. 22, after 38 years with the department.
