Bridgeport Man, 21, Charged With First-Degree Rape In NY, Police Say A 21-year-old Fairfield County man wanted on a charge of first-degree rape is behind bars after turning himself into to New York State Police. Lucas C. Xavier, of Brookfield, is accused of forcible sexual intercourse with an unwilling party, state police said. The incident occurred in the town of Woodbury in Orange County, state police said.  Xavier was charged with first-degree rape, a Class B felony after he turned himself in at the state police barracks in Monroe for processing.  Xavier was arraigned and subsequently remanded to Orange County Jail on $10,000 USD Cash bail…

Man Caught With Loaded Handgun, 3 Pounds Of Pot In I-84 Speeding Stop A man is facing charges after he was caught with a loaded handgun and three pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on I-84, police say. New York State Police initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle speeding on I-84 in the Town of Newburgh on Wednesday, April 3. Upon further inspection, it was revealed that the driver, identified as 52-year-old Ronald Nicholson of Damascus, Virginia, had a loaded 45 caliber handgun and approximately three pounds of marijuana in the vehicle.
