Former Ridgefield High School standout Kieran Smith, a junior competing for the University of Florida, stood atop the podium in the 400-meter freestyle at the US Olympic trials held in Omaha, Nebraska over the weekend after outpacing his competition in a race he never fell behind. Former Fairfield Resident Lillian Hull Hughes Dies At 92 Fairfield County native and longtime Town of Fairfield resident Lillian Hull Hughes, 92, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on Dec. 31, 2018.  She was born in Bridgeport on Oct. 28, 1926 and lived in Fairfield before coming to Port Charlotte in 1991. Hughes was a retired manager of an answering service in Connecticut.  She is predeceased by her husband, John W.
