$24,000 Fraud: 41-Year-Old Man Charged By Chief State's Attorney
A Connecticut man has been arrested and charged with allegedly illegally collecting more than $24,000 in Unemployment Compensation benefits.
New Haven County resident Marcus Johnson, age 41, of Waterbury, was charged on Friday, May 5, with one count each of unemployment compensation fraud and larceny, according to the Office of the Chief State's Attorney.
The arrest is the result of an investigation following a complaint by the Connecticut Department of Labor.

A Newtown psychologist and advanced registered nurse pleaded guilty to defrauding Medicaid by billing the government health insurance program for thousands of dollars.
Jeannie Pasacreta, age 66, of Newtown, pleaded guilty Wednesday, March 29, to one count of health insurance fraud. In addition, she was ordered to pay $79,418.77 in restitution.

Two teens who had previously been arrested for allegedly burning down Stratford's historic Shakespeare Theatre, have been charged by state environmental police with allegedly burning two storage containers and other vandalism at Silver Sands State Park.
