New Officer Joins Bethel Police Department The Bethel Police Department recently welcomed the newest addition the town’s "finest." The Bethel Police Department announced this week that they have sworn in their newest officer, Nicholas Silva, who is heading to the Police Academy for a six-month stint to hone his skills.  His training expected to include more than 850 hours of classroom and practical instruction, along with physical fitness conditioning to prepare the officers to perform the many duties of a police officer in today’s communities.
