Duo Nabbed In Jewelry Store Burglary Spree That Hit Danbury Business
Two suspects are behind bars in connection with a string of jewelry store burglaries that targeted businesses in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. In Dutchess County, police were called at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, for a burglary in progress in Beacon at Sky Diamond Jewelers on Main Street. As officers arrived, the suspects were seen driving away from the scene. Officers initially pursued the vehicle onto the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge but called off the chase “due to the unsafe speeds,” Beacon Police said. Two separate tractor-trailer crashes just an hour apart wreaked havoc with traffic on Interstate 84 amid the heavy rain and dangerous winds during the potent storm. Both crashes happened within miles in Dutchess County. Blocked Lane Causes Hour-Long I-84 Delays During Evening Commute
This story has been updated. There were hour-long delays on a busy stretch of I-84 during the evening commute with the right lane blocked for about an hour. The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. Monday, May 13 westbound in Beacon neat the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, with traffic backed up to Route 9 (Exit 13). The lane reopened just before 7 p.m.

Woman Caught With Drugs After I-84 Chase Through Two Counties
A woman is facing drug possession charges after leading troopers on a pursuit on I-84 through Dutchess and Orange counties, New York State Police say. New York State Troopers say they initiated a vehicle stop on a 2015 Acura RDX near mile marker 48.8 for a traffic infraction on Wednesday, April 10 around 10 a.m. While officers were interviewing the driver, identified as 27-year-old Erica Rezuke of West Hartford, Connecticut, she allegedly sped away, heading westbound on Interstate 84. ID Released For Person Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer On I-84 Bridge
The identity of the person killed during a two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge on I-84 has been released. The crash took place around 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, when a Kenworth tractor-trailer was traveling east in the center lane of the eastbound span of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge when it became disabled, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. The eastbound side of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge is closed Thursday night after a fatal two-vehicle crash. The closure is expected to last until late in the evening on Dec. 6 during the accident investigation. Details on the crash have not yet been released. This is a developing story. This story has been updated. There was gridlock, and one closure, on four of the area's major roadways as drivers hit the roadways on the eve of July 4th. A crash caused the closure of a stretch of the Saw Mill River Parkway near the border of Mount Kisco and Chappaqua.
