A man is facing years in prison after pleading guilty to three bank robberies in Connecticut. Francesco Pensiero, "Frank," age 51, of Stamford, admitted the 2020 robberies on Tuesday, June 4, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut. With two recent calls for carbon monoxide gas incidents at homes, a Fairfield County fire department reminds residents to turn off their vehicles in the garage. The New Canaan Fire Department responded to two carbon monoxide (CO) gas incidents on Sunday, April 21, caused by cars left running in the garage. 3 Escape New Canaan House Fire Without Injury
Three people were able to escape a Fairfield County house fire without injury. The fire occurred in New Canaan on White Shade Oak Lane around 11:40 p.m., Monday, April 8. According to Jill Stayman with the New Canaan Fire Department, the fire started at the rear of the two-car garage and extended into the attic area above it. The three occupants in the home were alerted to the fire when the smoke detector was activated. All were able to self-evacuate without injury, Stayman said. A Northern Westchester man has been accused of driving drunk in Fairfield County after police say he crossed the double-yellow line several times. At about 9 p.m. Saturday, April 6, an officer on routine patrol in New Canaan observed the vehicle traveling north on New Norwalk Road. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified Manuel Allende, age 65, of South Salem, as the operator. A K9 officer who served for nearly a decade with a Connecticut police department will be hanging up his badge, his human colleagues announced. K9 Apollo, who worked for the New Canaan Police Department, retired on Monday, March 18, according to the human officers he worked with. New Canaan Woman Nabbed For Driving Under Influence Of Drugs, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman has been charged with allegedly driving under the influence of drugs after a vehicle crash. Patricia Pamela Petraglia, age 71, of New Canaan, was found sitting in a vehicle in the driveway of a Silvermine Road residence on Monday, March 4 after leaving a crash in Darien. According to Lt. Marc DeFelice of the New Canaan Police, officers spoke with the operator and identified her as Petraglia. Officers detected that Petraglia was impaired, however it was not due to alcohol.
