One Person Hospitalized Following Fire At Two-Family Residence In Bridgeport
One person was hospitalized following a kitchen fire at a two-story, two-family residence in Bridgeport. The call for the fire came in around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday at 54 Ives Court, said Bridgeport Fire Assistant Chief Rich D'Onofrio. When firefighters arrived they found a kitchen fire on the second floor which seemed to be fueled by natural gas, the chief said. The one resident of the home was outside when the department arrived on the scene and was suffering from either smoke inhalation or a brunt throat, officials said. Utility Bills In Connecticut Rank Among Highest In Nation
Residents of New York and Connecticut are paying some of the highest prices to keep their lights on and the heat up. According to a newly released report from move.org, Connecticut is paying the fourth-highest average utility bill nationally each month, just ahead of New York, which landed fifth on the list.
