New Principal Named At Elementary School In Greenwich
An elementary school in Fairfield County will soon have a new principal who brings decades of experience to the table. In an announcement on Friday, April 19, Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Toni Jones revealed Jason Martin has been appointed as the next principal of Riverside School effective on Monday, July 1. Martin will replace Christopher Weiss, who announced he would leave the district in January. A school in Fairfield County will soon be led by a new principal, officials announced. In an announcement on Thursday, April 11, Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Toni Jones revealed that Eduardo Calderón will take the helm of the Julian Curtiss School as its new principal effective on Monday, July 1. Fairfield County Resident Who Was Longtime Sales Rep Dies
A man who grew up in Westchester County and spent more than 50 years working at an insurance company in Connecticut has died at the age of 91. Fairfield County resident Anthony “Tony” Ragusa, of Wilton, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 4, following a brief illness, according to his obituary. He was born in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester High School. Ragusa went on to study at Mercy College and serve in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956 when he was honorably discharged, his obituary said. Two New Officers Join Police Department In Fairfield County
Two men police officers have joined a Fairfield County police department after both retired from the NYPD. On Monday, March 15, Kevin Maloney and Matthew Collins were sworn in as Wilton Police officers, the department said. They come to Wilton after recently retiring from the NYPD. Both will be attending a three-week training academy as well as a three-month field training program before being certified as Connecticut Police Officers. The Putnam County Court judge who died after suffering a heart attack while on the bench fell ill while he was handling a family law court matter on Friday, June 14. A Legal Aid attorney and a lawyer for children were in the courtroom when Judge James Reitz suffered a heart attack, according to a new report by The New York Law Journal. The College of New Rochelle is officially shuttering its doors at the conclusion of its summer semester and an agreement has been finalized to transfer students to Mercy College for the beginning of the fall semester.
