Firefighter Falls Through Floor While Battling Blaze At North Salem Home A firefighter fell through a floor during the response to a blaze at a Northern Westchester residence. The blaze began on Tuesday, Oct. 29 inside the laundry room at a North Salem home on Nash Road, according to the Croton Falls Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews soon began dousing the flames with hose lines and started making their way inside. Major Brush Fire In NY Spreads Smoke Into Fairfield County A major brush fire over at least a dozen acres in the Hudson Valley produced smoke that spread across the New York border into Connecticut. The blaze broke out at around 12:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in Putnam County in the area of Route 301 and East Boyds Road in the town of Kent and was finally contained late in the day on Sunday, Oct. 27. Head-On Rollover Crash Injures Three In Carmel A rollover crash in Putnam County left three people hospitalized following a head-on collision in Carmel. First responders were dispatched to Drewville Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, police said. Two were transported to Putnam Hospital, and a third was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center following the crash with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said that the crash is currently under investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and Carmel Police Department. No cause for the crash has been released.
