Beloved Owner Of Popular Restaurant In Fairfield County Dies The owner of a popular restaurant in Fairfield County has died. Monroe resident Rudolf H. "Rudy" Weiss best known for being the owner of Windmill Restaurant in Stratford for 40 years died Tuesday, April 23 after suffering a long time from Lewy Body Dementia. He was 83. Weiss' obituary said he was someone who always had a "joke and a smile" and was a complex problem solver.  In Stratford, Weiss supported Stratford EMS, Muscular Dystrophy and many softball teams, which got him inducted to the CT ASA Softball Hall of Fame as a sponsor.
