Beloved HS Teacher, Coach Who Was College Standout At WestConn Dies A lifelong Hudson Valley resident who was a beloved high school coach, and teacher, as well as the chief of a local fire department, and a standout college athlete in Connecticut, has died. Northern Westchester resident Michael Repp, of Somers and formerly of Katonah, died on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at age 82 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco.  He was born in Orange County on May 15th, 1939, in Cornwall, to the late Michael and Irene Repp. He was raised in Katonah, attended Saint Mary’s School in Katonah, and was a member of the first graduating class from John Jay High S…

Massive Search Of Area Reservoir Follows Report Of People, Dog Missing Multiple reports of a group of people and then a dog on the ice who went missing on the Muscoot Reservoir in Northern Westchester set off a massive ice search that lasted more than four hours. The incident took place around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 when New York State Police received two calls, one of a people out on the ice with a pink sled and another about a dog stuck on the ice at the reservoir between Route 35 and Cherry Street in Katonah, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. Danbury Resident Involved That Three-Vehicle Crash That Killed One The beloved co-owner of Johnny's Pizzeria in Mount Vernon died in a car crash in Northern Westchester on Saturday, according to New York State Police. Maria Piscopo, 69, of Brewster, died around 1 a.m. during the fatal three-vehicle crash on I-684 in North Castle, said Trooper AJ Hicks. An initial investigation suggests that Joseph Piscopo Jr., 47, who was driving a 2001 GMC Denali, with Maria Piscopo in the passenger seat, was traveling northbound when he and rear-ended a 2001 Dodge Dakota, Hicks said.
