Hit-Run Driver Seriously Injures Man In Danbury
A man was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in Danbury around 8:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 3 in the area of 9A Clapboard Ridge Road. When officers arrived, they found the man in the roadway with serious injuries, said Erin Henry, spokesperson for the Danbury Police Department. The victim has not yet been identified by police. A man was seriously injured after falling off a disabled scooter in Fairfield County. The crash took place around 6:50 p.m., Tuesday, April 18 in Easton on Route 58 between Valley Road and Country Club Lane. According to Easton Police Chief Richard Doyle, the man's disabled scooter was being towed by another vehicle when he fell off and was seriously injured. Officers responded to a report of a carjacking at the Hamden Plaza, located at 2100 Dixwell Ave., at about 3 p.m. on Friday, March 18. Firefighters were able to extinguish a high-rise roof fire at a construction site in Fairfield County before the whole building was destroyed. The blaze broke out around 10:25 a.m., Friday, May 21 in Stamford at the Smyth Building Construction site on the corner of Tresser and Washington boulevards. Two women were injured during an early-morning house fire in Stratford that was likely started by careless smoking. Firefighters were dispatched to a fire call around 4:49 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, on Karen Avenue in Stratford, said Stratford Fire Chief Brain Lampart.
