Northeast Cities Among Most Diverse In US: Here's What A New Study Says
The US population is rapidly diversifying, with cities in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic at the forefront, according to a new study.
WalletHub released its 2025 ranking of the nation's Most Diverse Cities on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Three Maryland communities topped the list of 501 locations, which were evaluated based on socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household, and religious diversity.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 10.2 percent of Americans identified as multiracial in 2020, a sharp increase from just 2.9 percent in 2010.

A New Jersey-based political consultant admitted that he hired two hitmen, including one from Connecticut, to kill a longtime associate who had worked for him on various election campaigns, federal authorities said.

An 11-year-old Westchester County girl has gone missing and authorities are asking the public's help in locating her.
Verenizet Calero, who is believed to be endangered, was last seen on East Columbus Avenue in the town of West Harrison at 6:15 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16, authorities announced.
She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a gray T-shirt, light blue shorts, a light blue surgical mask and was carrying a black backpack, Harrison Police said.

Norwalk Trucker Charged In Theft Of $150,000 Worth Of Copper
A trucker from Norwalk conspired with two accomplices to steal more than $150,000 worth of copper from a hardware manufacturer in New Jersey, authorities charged.
Police arrested the trio after a manager at Elgen/Capital Hardware Inc. in the Bergen County town of Closter reported large quantities of copper missing from the business.
Eliseo Adorno, 47, worked with Alvaro Baca, 27, of Roselle, New Jersey, who was the company's shipping manager, and trucker Dimitris M. Hatsis, also 27, of Norwalk, to steal the metal, authorities said.

Toys "R" Us, which filed for bankruptcy last fall, plans to close as many as 182 outlets, about one-fifth of its total number of stores across the country, according to a court filing late Tuesday.
