Truck Slams Into Pole In Stamford Hazmat crews are on the scene of a crash on Dyke Lane where an excavator struck wires and several poles, bringing down three large transformers to the ground, said Stamford Police. The construction incident took place around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday near the foot of Washington Boulevard, closing the roadway from Dyke Lane to Manor Place, police said. The fire department is on the scene along with officials from Eversource.  There was no immediate information regarding the number of power outages or what caused the crash. Police are asking motorists to avoid the area.  This is a developing story…
