A 64-year-old Connecticut man is accused of hitting a pedestrian last week, leaving her with severe injuries, and fleeing the scene.
Carlton Brechlin, of Wallingford, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, operating a vehicle with unsafe tires, and injuring a vulnerable person on a public highway, authorities said.
Wallingford police said Brechlin was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Silverado when he struck a 52-year-old woman on Center Street on Friday, Feb. 7.

Margaret Jean Marshall, age 49, of New Canaan, was charged on Friday, Feb. 2, after she was stopped on Cherry Street for driving without a front license plate, said Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police.

A Connecticut man has been charged with driving under the influence after he allegedly hit a house with his car, knocking it off its foundation last year.
New Haven County resident Michael Murray, age 62, of Milford, turned himself in to police on Saturday, Jan. 20 for the Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023 incident.
