Nordstrom Night Out Will Celebrate Opening In SoNo Nordstrom Night Out to celebrate the store's opening in South Norwalk is set. It a chance to "shop with a purpose" at the benefit for the Domestic Violence Crisis Center or DVCC and Fairfield County's Community Foundation. Nordstrom Night Out is set for Thursday, Oct. 10 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. which is the night before the store's official opening. Nordstrom is scheduled to open on Friday, Oct. 11 at SoNo Collection Mall in Norwalk.  The new three-level, 140,000 square-foot store will be the retailer's second in Connecticut, following Nordstrom Westfarms in Farmington. Family Of 20-Year-Old Who Died During Pancake Eating Contest Sues Sacred Heart University The family of a 20-year-old college student who choked to death during a pancake-eating contest at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield is filing a lawsuit against the school. Caitlin Nelson, a junior at the Fairfield County university, died last year on March 30 during the contest, which was a school-sanctioned event to raise money for charity. Her death was ultimately ruled an accident.
