Covid-19: Norwalk Sees No New Cases For First Time Since Start Of Pandemic For the first time since the beginning of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, no new cases of the virus were reported in Norwalk. Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling said on Monday, May 18, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases remained at 1,917, reflecting on new cases. There were three new deaths reported, bringing the total number of related deaths in Norwalk to 115. “It makes me sad to share that three more residents have died from COVID-19," said Rilling. Musician Performing In Norwalk Dies On Stage An area musician and lifelong Norwalker Timothy Paul Currie died suddenly while on stage performing with his band on the Norwalk Green on Saturday, Aug. 24. Currie, 66, was well known for playing drums with the Tim Currie Motown Band and Tim Currie’s Tumblin’ Dice Band, which is a 60’s tribute band. He was also known throughout the community for his community involvement and for his passion for music and athletics, his obituary said.
