Police officers in Connecticut had to shoot a dog that remains at large after it was involved in what was described as a “vicious” attack, according to authorities.
In Hartford County, police responded to a “vicious dog complaint” in Bristol on Friday, May 27, on French Street.
According to Bristol Police Lt. Robert Osborne, upon arrival, officers found a pit bull actively attacking its victim, and it had to be shot at the scene to halt the attack.

CT Shoplifting Suspect Pepper Sprays Security Guard, Makes Escape, Police Say
A woman who allegedly shoplifted items from a Connecticut Walmart store pepper-sprayed an employee as she fled after being stopped, police said.
The incident took place in Hartford County just before 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, at the Walmart, located at 1400 Framington Ave., in Bristol.
According to Lt. Christopher Lennon, of the Bristol Police, the woman was stopped after being spotted placing numerous items in her personal bag.
She then exited the store, and when security personnel stopped her and asked for a receipt, she ignored them and kept walking, Lennon said.

Man Pleads Guilty To 7-Stop Crime Spree, Carjacking
The man who stuck a gun into a woman’s neck carjacked her vehicle and went on a crime spree has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Arno Smith, 57, of Hartford, pleaded guilty to one charge of a Hobbs Act robbery, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Connecticut, said. Hobbs applies in instances of interstate or foreign attempted or real robbery.
Between the time of the carjacking and his arrest, Smith robbed 7 places including grocery stores, rental facilities, retailers, and an inn, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
