Firefighters Rescue Nine Ducklings In Stamford Stamford firefighters reunited nine ducklings with their mother after rescuing them from a catch basin on Summer Street Thursday, July 25. Engine Company 5 firefighters assisted by Stamford Animal Control officers removed the young ducks without incident under the watchful eye of their mother who stood nearby. Once reunited, the rescuers provided a safety escort for all ducks from Summer Street to Bridge Street, across Washington Boulevard and back into the Mill River.
