DANBURY, Conn. -- David MacNutt hit a huge milestone — and marked another win — by coaching his 1,000th career varsity girls basketball game at Wooster School in Danbury on Jan. 13.

“While this milestone essentially means that I've been coaching for a very long time (aka old), it does present a wonderful opportunity for reflection,” said MacNutt. “It's moments like this when I think back to the stellar teams, great players, wonderful tournament runs, and sportsmanship awards the players were honored with. So many fantastic memories! Here's hoping that the next 1,000 brings more of the same!”

MacNutt began his coaching career at Wooster School in 1992 and has led the Generals to 22 New England Tournaments, 16 league titles and six undefeated seasons, as well as 12 undefeated seasons in league play.

Following Wednesday's victory against Forman School, his coaching record is 780 - 220.

MacNutt's teams have won a total of eight Sportsmanship Awards.

He started his coaching career in 1984. Before his arrival at Wooster School, he led the girls and boys varsity basketball programs at Rutgers Prep School and Far Hills Country Day School in New Jersey and at and Friend Seminary in New York.
