DANBURY, Conn. – Wooster School's seventh grade students completed another season of “Trout in the Classroom,” a bridge to the project-based life science curriculum.

The Danbury students have been raising brown trout (Salmo trutta) in science class since November in collaboration with the Housatonic Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited and recently released them into Miry Brook on the school’s campus.

The seventh grade ecology unit focuses primarily on the natural environments around campus and their inhabitants as they have faced ongoing changes over the past years. In addition to the trout project, students have studied local vegetation, macro- organisms and the importance of watersheds, such as their own Miry Brook.
