Mimi Pelton-McCormick, an eighth-grader and Mount Kisco resident, is a “steward of Wooster’s values and guiding principles through her relationships with friends and teachers, her dedication and presence in the classroom and her positive leadership as a job captain this fall,” said Sarah Rand, the middle school’s dean of students, in a press release. “(Mimi) is quick to lend a helping hand, and brings boundless enthusiasm and a positive attitude to her work in the classroom, advisory, and jobs.
“Her friendly demeanor and playful spirit, whether it’s how she enters a room or cartwheels across the common room is undeniably wonderful.
“(Mimi’s) kindness and thoughtfulness extends to all members of the Wooster community. She will often send an encouraging message or check in to see if others are okay if she notices they may be having a tough day.
“In the classroom (Mimi) possesses an exploratory inquisitive nature about learning and immerses herself in her process of learning, thinking and creating.”
