Four buildings had been evacuated and locked down just before 3 p.m., the college said via Twitter @WestConn.
The Midtown Student Center, Haas Library, Newbury Hall and University Hall, which had been evacuated earlier, have been cleared and people can go back inside, WestConn said.
"All buildings on both campuses have returned to normal operation. The initial evacuation was prompted by a hoax bomb threat," the college said via Twitter @WestConn.
Earlier, the college had said: "There is a developing emergency situation on campus that has necessitated the evacuation of several buildings," @WestConn said via Twitter. "More info coming soon."
Scanner reports said a bomb threat was reported.
"You will see increased police presence on campus," @WestConn said via Twitter. "Alternate areas may be secured as necessary. Updates will follow as more info is available."
