The students advanced to the state competition after participating in the regional convention held at WestConn on April 1.
The following Danbury students will be among the 130 students will be traveling to the University of Connecticut Storrs for the state competition:
From Westside Middle School Academy: Sebastian Beaver, Timothy Chen, Kayti Kull, Brendan Stein, Malcom Thompson and Jacob Williams.
Williams will present his “Safety Garage,” which can automatically open the garage doors to fresh air after detecting carbon monoxide. The detector is connected to a light that turns on a light when smoke is detected, signaling the door to open.
Elementary school students are: Jonah Gale from Hayestown; Nico LaRosa from King Street; Allysen Whitehead from Shelter Rock; and Ryan Ceylan and Ava Kuehn.
From South Street Elementary School: Juliet Dahlstrom, Faith Evans, Daira Lopez, Kelly Salinas and Angel Velastegui.
