Martin previously sat on the board of Junior Achievement in Rochester, N.Y., and said he is eager to serve again with the organization.

“I know that the organization helps to bring the global economy to students in K-through-12 with a special emphasis in the high schools,” Martin said.

“I also know that the members of the board are dedicated individuals who volunteer their time, treasure and talent to ensure that students can see a pathway to success in their life.”

Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut serves Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, and several other municipalities. Nationally, 4.5 million students participated in the program over the 2013-14 school year.

The program is staffed by corporate and community volunteers who give students from kindergarten through high school knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.
