With a double-digit lead as early returns come in, Donald Trump has been projected by several media outlets as the winner of the Republican primary in South Carolina on Saturday.

Hillary Clinton edged out challenger Bernie Sanders in the Nevada Democratic caucus.

"To everyone who turned out in every corner of Nevada with determination and heart: This is your win. Thank you. -H," Clinton tweeted Saturday night.

Trump is comfortably ahead of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who are in a heated battle for second place.

The Democatic candidates will now move on to South Carolina's Democratic primary next Saturday. Clinton is the heavy favorite due to her popularity with African-American voters.
