Two Steps Downtown Bar and Grille is already planning to add a betting parlor as part of a $750,000 renovation, if the proposal is approved, the News-Times said.
The renovation would be funded by Sportech Venues, which has licensing rights to OTB in Connecticut and is adding a betting facility to the new Bobby V's Restaurant and Sports Bar in Stamford, the News-Times said.
But critics say an OTB facility could increase crime and stifle efforts to revitalize downtown, the News-Times said.
The Zoning Commission's public hearing on Off Track Betting in restaurants will be held Tuesday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Danbury City Hall.
