DANBURY, Conn. -- State Rep. Richard A. Smith (R-108) recently introduced four veterans from the greater Danbury area to the state House of Representatives.
Those recognized included Bethel's Dan Giata of the Marine Corps, Joe Schirmer of the Army and Tom Cummings of the Navy.
Additionally, Louis Russo, a World War II veteran, was credited for his service in the Pacific Theater of operations.
Russo was also recognized for his upcoming 98th birthday, which will occur in August.
Smith represents Danbury, New Fairfield, Sherman and New Milford.
