Boughton, who has served as mayor since 2001, described Danbury as a “microcosm” of the greater melting pot of the United States.
“We have people from literally all over the world,” Boughton said. “We’re the 21st most diverse community in the United States of America just behind San Francisco as the 20th most diverse city."
Boughton also said the city is noted for having a mix of urban, suburban and rural areas. It has landscapes ranging from working farms to an urban core, he said.
