Two Danbury Women Charged In Crack Cocaine Bust

DANBURY, Conn. – Two Danbury women were arrested Thursday and accused of taking part in a drug transaction in the Osborne Street area, police said.

Members of the police Community Conditions Unit said one of the women had a white, rock-like substance that later tested positive for crack cocaine.

The pair were identified as Gail Meade, 50, and Deanne Grise, 41, both of Danbury. Police said they detained the two after seeing them circle the area, stop next to each other and exchange something. Police said Grise had money in her possession and Meade crack cocaine.

Mead was charged with possession of crack cocaine and released on a written promise to appear in court Jan. 11. Grise was charged with sale of crack cocaine and released on a $10,000 bond. She is due in court Jan. 15.
