Teen Charged With Driving Getaway Car After Danbury Shooting

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury police have made a third arrest in connection with an October shooting, charging a city teenager with helping the suspect and his accomplice flee by driving the getaway car, police said.

Manuela Del Carmen Aleman, 19, of Danbury, was charged with hindering prosecution and interfering with an officer. according to police. She was held on $35,000 bond, police said.

Aleman's arrest came Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 8:15 p.m. when detectives found her at her residence, said police. Detectives had an arrest warrant and took Aleman into custody, according to police.

Her arrest followed a police investigation into the shooting, which occurred at 8:41 p.m. Oct. 29. A 22-year-old male victim suffered one gunshot wound to his right leg/groin area while he was outside of a residence on School Ridge Road in Danbury, police said.

The victim was visiting friends at that location when Alexander Chadee-Sierra, 22, of Bronx, N.Y., arrived and had the victim summoned outside, according to police.

Just as the victim exited the residence, Chadee-Sierra fired two shots, striking the victim once, according to police.

Chadee-Sierra then reportedly fled in a vehicle and was believed to have traveled to the Bronx area, police said. An investigation determined that the vehicle was driven by Aleman, according to police.

Chadee-Sierra turned himself in to Danbury police Nov. 16, and was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor, police say. He was held on $250,000 bond, according to police.

Brandon Gonzalez, 18, of the Bronx, who is accused of summoning the victim outside, turned himself in to police Nov. 16 on an active arrest warrant, police said. He was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit assault and first-degree accessory to assault. He was held on $250,000 bond.

At the time of the shooting, there were several people in the apartment, including a 4-year-old boy, who was standing just inside the doorway, according to police.

The victim had been transported to the Danbury Hospital, where he was treated and subsequently released, police said.
