DANBURY, Conn. — A 47-year-old Danbury man who was wanted on a court-issued arrest warrant was busted after he was spot selling drugs to a customer in the city, Danbury police said Monday.

At about 9 a.m. Friday, officers spotted William Albers behind the wheel of a car at Town Hill Avenue and South Street in Danbury, police said.

Before stopping Albers, investigators saw him involved in a suspected drug deal with Mark Lamoureux, 21, of Danbury, who was seized by officers minutes after the transaction, police said.

Officers found illegal drugs in Albers' possession and placed him under arrest and seized the car, police said.

Members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division and the Community Conditions Unit along with a representative of a federal law enforcement agency then went to Albers' home at 119 Coalpit Hill Road, Apt. 3, Danbury, to execute the search and seizure warrants, police said.

A search turned up additional illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Albers was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a promise to appear in court.

Lamoureux was charged with sale of a narcotics substance. He was also released on a promise to appear in court.

The warrants had been issued as a result of an investigation that began weeks earlier after complaints that Albers was selling illegal drugs in Danbury.
