According to the News Times, the incident is one of four that detectives are actively investigating. The incidents all occurred in the same neighborhood surrounding West Street in the weeks running up to the election, the story said.
"The recent spray-painting of signs of hate in Danbury are troubling and horrifying," Mayor Mark Boughton said on the city's Facebook page.
"Rest assured that the city of Danbury will not tolerate acts of hate. When the person or persons are apprehended they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."
The other incidents include swastikas painted on trucks and vans, as well as the front door of the Catholic Family Charities organization on West Street, the Danbury News Times reported.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Danbury police Detective Robert Perun at 203-797-2167.
