DANBURY, Conn. – Months before she was officially in legal hot water, rumors about a 24-year-old female Danbury High School teacher recently charged with sexually assaulting a male student were so persistent that it made it difficult for her to do her job, according to newstimes.com.
Kayla Mooney even twice complained to school officials about the rumors, newstimes.com reported.
Mooney was charged March 31 with second-degree sexual assault and providing alcohol to a minor in connection with her relationship with a 17-year-old male student.
Mooney is set to be arraigned on April 27 and remains on paid leave from the Danbury school system, newstimes.com reported.
