Pedestrian Struck By Mercedes In Danbury Suffers Serious Injuries

DANBURY, Conn. – A man was injured early Sunday when he was struck by a car while attempting to cross Clapboard Ridge Road in Danbury, according to the Danbury Police Department's Traffic Division.

Michael Rodriguez, 26, of New Fairfield, was struck by a car driven by Adam Shea, 33, of Danbury, at 1:46 a.m., police said.

Rodriguez was walking with two other people and was crossing Clapboard Ridge Road onto Cowperthwaite Street when he was hit by Shea’s 2014 Mercedes, police said.

Rodriguez was taken to Danbury Hospital and was being treated for injuries, police said.

The accident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to call Sgt. Rory DeRocco at 203-797-2157.
