Cordero Callands, 26, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, first-degree burglary, breach of peace, and threatening.
A few minutes earlier, officers had been rebuffed after offering to help Callands and his childs mother, who were arguing outside on Osborne Street, the NewsTimes.com said.
But the woman called police back for help and said she was afraid of Callands, the NewsTimes.com said. When officers got to her home, they found broken glass from a window and Callands, in the closet, after a search, the report said.
Callands was released on $5,000 bond, the report said.
