Danbury Police Make Drug Arrest

DANBURY, Conn. – A 42-year-old Waterbury woman was charged with misdemeanor sale of narcotics Thursday after she was seen selling heroin to a Danbury man in the city’s downtown area, Danbury police said.

At about 9:30 a.m., officers patrolling the area of Main and State streets spotted Maya Willis, of Pine Street in Waterbury, selling heroin to 52-year-old Thomas Mcdermott, of 41 New St. in Danbury, according to Detective Lt. Tom Michael.

Police apprehended the two and charged Willis with selling the drugs. Mcdermott was charged with misdemeanor possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police did not disclose what paraphernalia Mcdermott allegedly was carrying.

Willis was held in lieu of posting a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in Danbury Superior Court Friday. Mcdermott was released on a written promise to appear in court Sept. 26.
