Danbury Mother Allegedly Leaves Toddler In Vehicle While Shopping

DANBURY, Conn. -- Police have charged a Danbury woman for leaving her toddler alone in a vehicle outside Walmart while she shopped Monday, according to The News-Times.

Police were called to the parking lot outside the Newtown Road store by witnesses, who reportedly saw the 2-year-old "screaming and crying for her mother," the News-Times said.

Heidi Uvina-Desanchez was charged with leaving a child under 12 years old unsupervised, according to the story.

She reportedly told police she left the child for only 10 minutes, the story said.
