Danbury Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of 11-Year-Old Girl

DANBURY, Conn. – A Danbury man is awaiting extradition back to Connecticut after being arrested by New York State Police on charges that he sexually abused an 11-year old girl, according to Danbury police.

Arturo Hernandez, 36, was arrested in South Salem, N.Y. after the Danbury Police Special Victims Unit discovered the alleged abuse as part of an investigation, police said.

Danbury Superior Court issued an arrest warrant for Hernandez on Tuesday, leading to his arrest Friday.

Hernandez is being charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor - sexual contact, and risk of injury to a minor - health morals. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
