Danbury Man Charged With Heroin Possession

DANBURY, Conn. - A Danbury man was charged with possession of heroin after a police officer on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle near the Beaver Street Housing Facility, police said.

After midnight Tuesday morning, the officer reported seeing a car parked close to the housing facility with four occupants in it, police said. An investigation of the car found that the driver, Derrick Burden, 33,  was in possession of a clear plastic bag with a white substance, which tested positive for heroin, police said. 

Burden was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sale and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a housing development. He was released on $5,000 bond.
