DANBURY, Conn. -- A Bridgeport woman was arrested Friday morning by Danbury detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Violence Task Force on charges of hindering in the prosecution of a homicide in Danbury in the spring, police said.

Tysheema Franklin, 22, of 227 Spring St., was taken into custody Friday morning in East Haven and transported to Danbury. She was held on $100,000 bond.

Franklin was charged with first-degree hindering prosecution. The state Superior Court had issued a warrant for her arrest.

The charge relates to the May 3 homicide in Danbury of Jeiel Kingston. Kingston, 23, was shot in the arm and torso on White Street after a fight at Mambo Cafe on Elm Street. Kingston was found at about 2 a.m. on the sidewalk alongside a parking lot for the shopping plaza at 301 Main St.

At the time of her arrest, it was learned that Franklin was also wanted by the Milford Police Department on unrelated charges.

According to the News-Times, Garfield Sanderson, 23, of Bridgeport was arrested nine days after the shooting and charged in Kingston’s death.

Another Bridgeport man, Rashad Dancy, 25, was also arrested in connection with the murder. He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm after shooting at a Bridgeport house in retaliation for the death of his friend, Kingston.
