An 83-year-old Danbury resident was arrested for possession of cocaine following a months-long investigation into illegal drug sales at his home, according to Danbury Police.
Juan Castano, was arrested Thursday following a search warrant of his home at 3 Lawncrest Read after the department received complaints from residents about illegal drug sales taking place, said Det. Lt. Mark Williams.
During the investigation Castano was seen engaging in conduct consistent with drug trafficking on several occasions, Williams said.
During the search by members of the Special Investigations Division, Community Conditions Unit and a police K-9 unit, police seized four ounces of cocaine, packaging material, processing equipment and several hundred dollars in cash, he said.
Castano was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was later released from the police department for a written promise to appear in court on March 23.
