Police said they had received citizen complaints that one of the men — Tamel Peterson, 29, of Naugatuck — was selling drugs in Danbury.
Peterson and Timothy Martin, 64, of New Fairfield "were allowed to separate" before they were independently stopped, police said.
Members of the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division and the Community Conditions Unit along with a representative of a federal law enforcement agency made the arrests.
Peterson was charged with possession of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place and sale of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a prohibited place. He was held on $50,000 bond.
In addition to the bond placed on Peterson, a remand to custody order was issued by the Connecticut Department of Parole.
Martin was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a protected place. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
