DANBURY, Conn. – Walter S. Sacowitz of Danbury died Nov. 21 at Danbury Hospital. He was 84.
Sacowitz was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Danbury to Andrew and Josephine Sarkowicz. He attended Danbury schools and served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a hatter at the former Lee Hat Shop for many years.
He went on to work as a machinist for the Kanthal Corp. Sacowitz was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Sacowitz is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Green Funeral Home in Danbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
