Ferrante was born Sept. 2,1936, in Ripi, Italy, son of Orlando and Maria (Cortina) Ferrante.
He left Italy to go to Venezuela, where he became a horse trainer. He later moved to the United States, where he worked as the meat manager at Pantry Pride and later served as a police officer for the Danbury Police Department.
He enjoyed soccer, playing bocce, horse races, poker and Bugs Bunny. Ferrante was a member of the Amerigo Vespucci Lodge in Danbury.
He is survived by his wife Louisa of Danbury; his daughter Sabrina Ferrante of Danbury; his son Enrico Ferrante Jr. and his wife Martha of New Milford; three grandchildren; Valerie, Aiden and Alec; a brother Victor Ferrante; and a sister Angela DeLucia.
Calling hours are at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Tuesday, Aug. 15 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church in Danbury. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
