Pecor was born Nov. 6, 1946, in Mt Kisco, N.Y., to Herman R. Sr and Ruth (Cunningham) Pecor. After attending high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a mechanic during the Vietnam War. Upon his return from service, he married Carol (Van Houten) and they made Danbury their home. He worked as a painter at Joyco until his retirement in 1990.
Pecor is survived by sisters, Betty (Michael) Cooper and Wanda (Brian) Wilson; brothers, Dean (Rose) Pecor and Mark (Victoria) Pecor; sister-in-law, Louann Pecor; sons, Ron Pecor, Gary Pecor, Gradon (Amanda) Pecor and Douglas (Melissa) Pecor; nine grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers John, Herman Jr., Willie, and Buddy.
Calling hours are Wednesday, July 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Graveside Service will full military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Immediately following the graveside, a reception will take place at the Moose Lodge in Danbury.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his wife, Carol Pecor, to ensure her security without him.
