Roger Earl Weaver, Formerly Of Danbury, Retired Post Office Employee

MILFORD, Conn. - Roger Earl Weaver of New Milford died Wednesday, July 24. He was 93.

Weaver was born in Bennington, Vt., in 1920 to Helen Gulliver Weaver. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1941 and served during World War II as a B-24 radioman and waist gunner on 35 combat missions over central and southern Europe. Returning to Bennington after the war, he relocated to the Danbury area in the early 1950’s where he held several jobs before joining the U.S. Post Office in 1964. He retired from the Post Office in 1984 and moved to West Yarmouth, Mass., on Cape Cod. He continued to live on the Cape until declining health brought him to the home of his stepson and daughter-in-law.

Weaver is survived by his stepson, Donald (Joan) Frinder; stepdaughter, Barbara Jean Frinder O’Donnell (Brendan); six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Veronica McCarthy;;and  his second wife, Jean Keating Finder.

A graveside service and interment will be held in the Veteran’s Section of Chandler Gray Cemetery, West Yarmouth, Mass., Saturday, Sept. 28 at 10:30 a.m.
