DANBURY, Conn. Rocho Lucsky, a Danbury native, died Sept. 22 at Bethel Health Care following a prolonged illness. He was 62.
Lucsky was born Nov. 7, 1949, in St. Louis, Mo., to Andrew S. and Christine F. Meyer Lucsky. He grew up in Danbury and graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and Danbury High School. Lucsky was a resident of New Fairfield since 1978.
He worked at Dayton Rogers Manufacturing Co. and Electric Snake Sewer and Drain Service. He also worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Public Safety as a truck inspector for 22 years until his retirement in 2009.
He later worked for the STA School Bus Company in Danbury and owned and operated Economy Drain Service from 1990 to 2011.
Lucsky was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury, where he served on the board of trustees and board of lay ministry. As owner of Economy Drain Service, he sponsored Danbury PAL softball teams for eight seasons and coached girls basketball at Immanuel Lutheran School for two years.
He enjoyed travelling, taking several cruises and trips throughout the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Saunders Lucsky; a daughter, Christy (Keith) Benway, of Ocala, Fla.; a stepson, George A. Sutton Jr., of New Fairfield; a daughter, Sara Beth, of New Fairfield; two sisters, Christine Wharton, of New Milford, Conn., and Connie Piskura, of New Fairfield; a brother, Mark Lucsky, of New Fairfield; a half-brother, Don Gentry, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and two grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Green Funeral Home in Danbury. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bethel.
